Get Ready to Rock with Genshin Impact Version 2.2

The announcement of Genshin Impact Version 2.2 proves that the wildly popular anime-style RPG is showing no signs of slowing down. After all, the last major city to be introduced, Inazuma, was just the third of seven that players can look forward to exploring. And the latest Genshin update introduces the latest (and last) major Inazuma-based island for players to visit. We’re feeling somewhat spoiled.

Genshin Impact Version 2.2, entitled “Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog”, introduces Tsurumi Island. As the update’s name suggests, this latest major island is shrouded in fog. And if there’s one thing that gamers know, it’s that ‘fog’ means ‘foes’.

Expect ‘unprecedented challenges’ when traversing the hazy landscape of Tsurumi Island. Rifthounds and Rifthound Whelps are sneaky critters that revel in launching surprise attacks on unsuspecting travelers. And should their attack land, players can expect their team to suffer the HP-draining ‘Corrosion’ status.

One such afflicted team-member could be the newly playable four-star Thoma. Thoma holds a Pyro Vision, wields a polearm and provides strong defence and buffs. Players can recruit him in the second Event Wish and look forward to Hangout Events with both Thoma and Sayu as part of the update.

Seasonal events are also en route. These include the “Labyrinth Warriors” event, which sees players venture into a mystic domain alongside “Childe” Tartaglia, Eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers and Xinyan – a rock ‘n’ roll musician. And the “Tuned to the World’s Sounds” seasonal event will allow players to rock out in a rhythm game featuring various musical styles.

Brand new optimisations will also join the Genshin update, while DualSense Controller support will be available for PC players for the first time. The Serenitea Pot will also now include a new Inazuma-themed realm layout, Furnishing Blueprints, a new furnishing type, Floating Platform and flowers that can be used as furnishings.

Genshin Impact Version 2.2 will land on 13th October. So there’s not long to wait until the fog starts rolling in.
